Coronavirus Update
Dear Instructors, Students, and Parents,
New Mexico Governor Lujan has declared a State of Emergency due to the Corona Virus. Therefore we must postpone the event and will look to reschedule later this summer.
Thank you all for your support and we hope to see you later this year.
Come join us for the New Mexico State Hanmadang. It will be held on Saturday April 4, 2020 at the St. Pius X High School located at 5301 St Joseph’s Dr NW Albuqueruqe, NM 87120.
Register Early and Save!
Register for the tournament by March 8th and receive early registration pricing.Taekwondo sparring is very well known as an Olympic sport. However, because of the high skill level and physical conditioning needed to be successful at sparring, the average Taekwondo School in the United States only has approximately 10% of the student body participating in sparring class and competitions. The hanmadang events are for the other 90% of Taekwondo students who do not participate in sparring. The hanmadang offers the opportunity for the 90% to showcase their skills in traditional forms, creative forms, creative board breaking, power breaking, and demonstration team events.
We will be using the rules from the 2019 US Open Taekwondo Hanmadang. Please see their website for more details. http://usopentkd.com/rules
We look forward to seeing everyone in Albuqueruqe!
