Instructions

Location: City Auditorium, 221 E. Kiowa St., Colorado Springs

Register before July 13th to receive the early registration discount. On July 13th registration will increase to $50 for first event, $10 for each additional event.

Note: Participant age is determined as of July 27, 2013. Divisions will be divided by age group and may be modified or combined based on the number of registrations in each division. Age divisions start at age 4 and above.

Competition Rules: Modified USA Taekwondo rules and Kukkiwon rules will govern this competition. The goal of this Taekwondo competition is to provide an opportunity for Taekwondo students to showcase their skills in a safe environment. The rule modifications are as follows;

All participants must wear a Taekwondo Uniform (any color) and belt.

*The RMSG has a NO REFUND policy.

4 Events

IS • Sparring
Requirements: All Ages and Ranks. Two 90 second rounds of continuous sparring. Whoever scores the most points wins. No head contact.
  • Individual Event
  • 90 seconds to perform
ICB • Individual Creative Breaking (Kyukpa)
Requirements: All ages and ranks. Each individual will have 60 seconds to setup and 60 seconds to break a minimum of 1 and maximum of 5 boards at their discretion. All boards are 1/4 inch pine.
  • Individual Event
  • Break 1 to 5 boards
  • 60 seconds to setup
  • 60 seconds to perform
IJH • Individual Jumping High Kick
Requirements: Age 8 and above. Any Belt Level. Each participant will have 30 seconds to attempt to break with running jumping front snap kick. Each participant has only 1 attempt to break the board (1/4 inch pine board) for each round. Participant must break the board to advance to the next round. The participant to break the highest board will be declared the winner.

ITF • Individual Traditional Forms (poomsae)
Requirements: All Ages and Ranks. Each participant will have 90 seconds to perform a Taeguek or Kukkiwon Black Belt form. NO music.
